He completed his training in hospitals in the US and Europe, specializing in hepatic-biliary cancer and breast cancer (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Roger Williams Cancer Center, Paul Rousse Hospital) and also in abdominal organ transplantation (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital).

He holds the “European Board Certified” in Transplantation of Organs, and he combines his position as Unit Director with his activity at the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, as well as teaching at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
